Costs & Healthcare Insurance

Everyone who lives and/or works in the Netherlands must have a health insurance. This insurance covers treatment you might receive in a hospital. The health insurance company will usually cover a large part of the costs involved in hospital treatment. Sometimes you will need to pay (a part of) these costs yourself. In order to get the costs reimbursed by the health insurance company, you will need an indication letter from your family practitioner or healthcare provider. More information on healthcare insurances for those from outside the Netherlands, can be found on this government website
