You can find directions via Google Maps to travel by car, bicycle or on foot. Or plan your trip with public transportation.
Pick-up or drop-off
It is possible to drive past the entrance of the hospital if you only want to pick up someone or drop them off. The driver is not permitted to leave the car and must drive on immediately after drop off or pick up.
Parking
The Flevoziekenhuis does not have its own parking facilities for patients or visitors. There are a limited amount of parking spots available for the disabled at the main entrance. If you want to park near to the hospital you can use the parking garages of the city of Almere. The closest garages are “Hospitaalgarage” and “Hennepveld”.
Parkingcards for long-term admission
When a patient needs to be admitted for 7 or more days to the hospital, then the partner or parents of the patient can purchase a “31-day parking card” from Parkeerservice Almere. The costs for parking with this card are lower than the regular fees. In order to purchase a “31-day parking card” you will need to do the following:
- Pick up a form from the patient’s ward
- Fill in the form
- Turn the form in to Parkeerservice Almere
Finding your way in the hospital
In the central hall of the Flevoziekenhuis there is a sign with route numbers to each of the different wards. Once in the hospital you simply follow the signs with the route numbers to the specific ward. There are also hostesses in the hall who can point you in the right direction.

Visiting hours
- You are very welcome to come and visit all days of the week between 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM. There is a limit of 2 visitors at a time.
- For partner, parent or contactperson visiting hours are: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM. There is a limit of 2 visitors at a time.
Family rooms
Some of the wards have family rooms or living rooms available for patients and their visitors. There is also a restaurant where patients can sit with their visitors.
Staying overnight
In some cases visitors are able to stay overnight with patients that are seriously ill. Please check with the nursing staff of the ward to see what can be arranged.

Contact person
The contact person is the person who receives the information on the patient while they are in the hospital. The patient has appointed this person as their contact person and has given permission to the medical personnel to share information concerning their treatment with him or her. Questions from family or other people will only go through this contact person.
